Garden Games

Here’s two different takes on the same game I’ve found. The one on top is from a display at Plantasia, our local gardening show. The checkers set below was found on the Black Rock & Riverside Tour of Gardens last Fall.

I have a long-time garden blog, a popular garden on America's largest garden tour, and have co-written a book on garden design titled, "Buffalo-Style Gardens: Create a Quirky, One-of-a-Kind Private Garden with Eye-Catching Designs" When I'm not doing all that, I am an advertising designer always out looking to design things to promote your business. Look me up at #jcharlier.

  1. It is so great, Jim! Now I know what to do with a chess board that I have in my garage!

  2. I like the first one a lot. That would be a lot of fun in a kids part of the garden too.

  3. I think they are great .. it shows quite a bit of imagination and I would have it in my garden in a snap !

  4. I especially like the top photo. This is so cool! Thanks for sharing. …

  5. Is the top one two different types of grass, or did they light-deprive the light squares?

  6. cj,From looking at it up close, I believe they were different grasses.
